Don't Give UpHave you ever felt like there are times in your life when you dropped the ball, you missed the basket, you made a mistake, and that you missed the mark? Are there times when you just want to quit, throw your hands up in the air and say I give up? The enemy of our soul would like nothing better than to torment us with thoughts that go like this - "you're no good, who do you think you are, you call yourself a Christian, how come things are so bad for you, where does serving God get you? These are the times in our lives when we must stand firm on the Word of God, to recall to our minds and hearts precious Scriptures and to keep on loving and serving the Lord with everything within us. You know God does not yell at us for dropping the ball, God does not say to us, we're no good, God does not say I don't want anything to do with you, but God does say things like this: Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you. (Hebrews 13:5) Come unto Me all ye who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest, take my yoke upon you and learn from me for my yoke is easy and my burden is light. (Matt. 11:28-30) Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him. (James 1:12) If you find yourself in a place of discouragement I want to encourage you – DON'T QUIT, DON'T GIVE UP. I want to encourage you just as the Word tells us in Hebrews 3:13 But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness and in Hebrews 10:24,25 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another – and all the more as you see the Day approaching. God loves you very much and He is waiting this very moment to wrap you in His loving arms. Reach out to Him, let Him restore you, let Him renew you. Because it is true, He that began a good work in you will carry it on to completion, so don't give up!!! Stand firm!!! |
