ChristmasWhen I was a little girl, I was always full of anticipation of what Santa would be bringing me for presents and I was filled with the wonder of the magic of Christmas; but never fully realizing the true meaning of Christmas. It wasn't until I was older and then I realized the true extent of my parents love and sacrifice that they made to make our Christmas celebration so special. One special tradition was always going to the 11:00 pm Christmas Eve Communion service, I remember sitting in the church and just feeling overwhelmed with love. Then when I was a young wife at the age of 19 I surrendered my life wholly to Christ - Christmas took on an even greater meaning to me. As a young wife and mother I sometimes felt small and insignificant ~ have you ever felt that way? Then once, when I was reading through the Word the Scripture that is found in Micah took on new meaning to me: The Scripture verse was this: Micah 5:2 But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting. That verse ministered to me in a powerful way because the truth of Christ coming to a little insignificant town of Bethlehem - the Savior came for me because He loved me!! He loves me and He sacrificed His live for me ~ that I once again can be in relationship with my Heavenly Father. God loved me that much ~ He loves you that much. This Christmas why not surrender everything ~ your thoughts, your dreams, your hopes, your fears, your heartaches, and your every day living to the God of the universe who loves you. Walk with Him and enjoy the true meaning of Christmas. Christ came for you and me and for all mankind. Let's give ourselves to Him!! |
